The following global pop stars are joining the colorful Fortnite universe: R&B singer Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak are getting their own skins as part of the Icons series.
The duo, known as “Silk Sonic”, will be available with two custom skins in the Fortnite store starting February 11th. In addition, a number of other materials will be presented.
This content will be available on February 11:
- Skins “Bruno Mars” and “Anderson .Paak” with styles
- Radio station “Icon Radio” featuring songs from artists from the Icon series and bassist Bootsy Collins as host
- “Sonic Scepter” pick type with built-in microphone and rear accessory function
- Emotion “Free steps”
- Hoe type “Boom-Bapp” with a drum
- Rear accessory “beat the drum”
- Lobby music “Somebody This Fly”
- “Leave the door open” emote (repeating)
In addition to the default style, the two skins contain two more alternate styles, one of which is even a reactive style that changes with certain actions in a match.
Exclusive content to unlock in Silk Sonic Cup
Those who can’t wait for February 11th to take on the roles of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have the chance to unlock skins and the exclusive “Silk Sonic” spray motif in the Silk Sonic Cup in advance. The cup will be played on February 7th. In total, you can play up to ten matches and score points. These points will subsequently determine your place in the ranking list.
All participants who finish at the end of the event in places from 1 to 1,250 in their region will receive skins and accessories for the back. If you score at least eight points, you will unlock an exclusive spray motif. By placing higher in the match, you will also get more points – an epic victory even gives you 25 points. Each defeat gives you an extra point.
New addition to the icon series
Ariana Grande, Marshmello and Travis Scott have already become part of the Fortnite icon series with their own skins and events. At the moment, these are famous musicians, streamers, pro-players and athletes.
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are not completely unknown in Fortnite. While Anderson’s .Paak appeared digitally in the 2020 Spotlight concert series, players have been able to show off their dance moves with the “Leave The Door Open” emote to Bruno Mars’ song of the same name for some time now.
Musical duo Silk Sonic have officially entered the Fortnite Badge Series. This morning, Epic Games announced that band members Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak will be joining Ariana Grande, J Balvin and a host of other celebrities and personalities in the game’s most exclusive cosmetic classification.
Collaboration items will hit the Item Shop on February 10 at 7 pm EST. However, for those who want to get the whole set in advance, look no further than the Silk Sonic Cup.
Epic Games is planning a tournament on February 7th where the top-placed teams in each region will unlock Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. Players can also earn a spray for free by scoring eight points in a tournament.

Fortnite’s Silk Sonic Cup is a couples tournament open to players of all Arena mode ratings and regions around the world. Those who are interested must open Fortnite within their region’s set time window to enter the competition. Participants can play a maximum of ten matches in three hours. Duos must aim for points based on placement and elimination.

Europe tops the list in terms of prize distribution in this competition. Teams finishing between first and 1,250 will take home a full set of Silk Sonic, including Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, and their respective Back Bling cosmetic embellishments. While it’s not an easy prospect, those who earn at least eight points will receive a “Sleek” cosmetic spray featuring both artists as shown above.
